More Updates Regarding Graduation….

Below, you will find two maps attached. The maps indicate designated handicap parking (must have the handicap tag for each vehicle) for both the indoor ceremony and the outdoor ceremony. You will also see the field set up.

To help ensure the safety of all while exiting from the parking lot, the Shawnee Police Department will direct the south drive traffic (in between MTMS and MVHS) to go south on Monticello Road and the north drive traffic to travel north on Monticello Road.

Your tickets will be distributed to students in a sealed envelope Tuesday, May 14th.Please do not return unused tickets to MVHS.If you need more than eight tickets, please feel free to work with families that may not need all of theirs.

An area for disabled guests and hearing impaired will be designated on the track and will include a tent for shade if needed.Another tent will be set up at the north end of the stadium for those experiencing difficulty with heat (a trainer will be stationed and ready to assist).

Graduation Updates

Detailed letters were mailed to seniors 3-28-13.As mentioned, each family will receive eight (8) Inclement Weather Graduation tickets for indoor graduation. The tickets will be distributed to the students with caps and gowns on Tuesday, May 14th during seminar. We will try to make a decision about moving indoors the night before. This information will be communicated via MVHS website (www.usd232.org/mvhs), Skyward E-mail and through texting.

DeCloud Studios agreed to provide each graduate with a free 8x10 print receiving his/her diploma on stage! You will still be able to purchase more prints on-line.

For your convenience, we offer 2 small shuttle buses that will drive around the parking lot to assist guests to the stadium. We will have 3 golf carts helping guests with disabilities get from the parking lot to the stadium. The golf carts will also help with other guests when possible. An area for disabled guests and hearing impaired will be designated on the track (contact Deana Thom at Mill Valley High School for arrangements for seating for guest with disabilities) and will include a tent for shade if needed.Another tent will be set up at the north end of the stadium for those experiencing difficulty with heat (a trainer will be stationed and ready to assist).

While we would like to accommodate every need, please do not set up tents or awnings in the bleachers. This may cause viewing problems and also limit seating.Umbrellas will be allowed. However, we ask that you sit on an edge so as not to block the view of others. Please use common sense and courtesy if using an umbrella.

Bottled water will be provided at no cost throughout the stadium.

Several ushers will be on site and ready to assist with any questions you may have.

Soon, you will receive a link to maps (will be located on MVHS website) so that you can get a visual of the gymnasium/stadium, entrances and parking lot set up.

Thank you for your patience as we work to communicate information regarding graduation.
